This is my 17th year at Albury FC, first as a parent and then assisting the Coaches for both of my two sons’ teams. It is my 6th year on the AFC Committee serving in roles including, Equipment Officer, Club Secretary, Treasurer, Pitches Co-ordinator, Sponsorship Officer and for the past 3 years as Chairman.
I am incredibly grateful for the opportunity to have led the club, and I am proud of what we have achieved together, particularly:
Albury Football Club (AFC)
• Male Pathway – growth year on year (establishing an U23 Saturday side last season).
• Female Pathway – now thriving with participation at U6 to U14 levels
• Reintroduction of - a discounted Jackets scheme for Coaches
• Reintroduction of - of an annual budget for Goalkeeper coaching
• Introduction of – Volunteer & Recognition Scheme
• Establishment - of an annual Bursary Fund
• Creation of a standard Sponsorship Policy which has relieved parents of kit purchase costs of (£38K) since its introduction.
• Grant Funding for 9v9 Metal goals at Tillingbourne School and Albury Heath.
• Establishing an annual:
• Coaches evening
• AFC Golf Day
• AFC End of Season Weekend (wit AFC Branded Gazebos, BBQ etc)
Albury Sports Club (ASC)
• Effecting a change in approach to ASC Accounting to bring greater visibility and transparency for the Football Club and other sections of the Sports Club.
• Changing the banking arrangements of the ASC by applying & creating the savings account for the AFC Development Fund which has led to the sports club now adopting this model.
• Obtaining Gift Aid status for ASC which had not been done since its incorporation in 2013.
• Growing the AFC Development Fund that will give the entire Sports Club financial security for years.
I am committed to ensuring a smooth transition so am happy to assist with handing over of my responsibilities to the next chairman. I will stay on in an advisory capacity until September 1st.
It has been a privilege to work with such a dedicated group of individuals.
I wish Albury FC all the best in the future and look forward to watching its continued success.
All the best, Andy
