Eagles v Milford Pumas Ramblers
Saturday 21st March 2026
Albury Eagles U9s delivered a superb all-round performance as they welcomed newly promoted Milford Pumas Ramblers to Tillingbourne on a beautiful spring morning.
From the first whistle, the Eagles were on the front foot and quickly asserted their dominance. Leo opened the scoring early and was in unstoppable form, completing a brilliant hat-trick before the end of the first period. Behind him, Max was already showing promise in midfield, while the defensive trio of Sullivan, Jenson and Digby proved rock solid, forming an impenetrable barrier that Milford simply could not break through.
The Eagles carried that momentum into the second period. Max, who had been threatening throughout, finally found the net after weeks of trying—and once he got started, there was no stopping him. He soon added a second with a stunning strike to take the score to five. Digby continued to work tirelessly down the right, linking up effectively with Max and creating chances, while Marcell came close to getting on the scoresheet himself.
In goal, Tommy had a relatively quiet game but remained sharp and alert when called upon, dealing confidently with several Milford through balls and showing great determination to preserve his clean sheet. Cian was dependable at left back, consistently clearing danger, while Jenson balanced his defensive duties with well-timed runs forward to support the midfield.
The third period saw the Eagles step things up again. Max doubled his tally for the match with two more well-taken goals, capping off an outstanding individual performance. Digby also got the goal his efforts deserved, cleverly nutmegging the keeper to add to the scoreline. Sullivan was lively on the left, contributing both defensively and in attack, while Rui was a constant threat and unlucky not to score.
Despite continued pressure in the final period, the Eagles were unable to add further goals. Nevertheless, it was a dominant display from start to finish. Every player gave 100%, showcasing excellent teamwork, smart passing, and a real attacking intent down the wings, combined with some clinical finishing.
A special mention goes to Max, a deserving Eagle of the Week for his fantastic performance.
Well done, boys!
