First Half – Teddy & William Combine, Arthur Stands Tall
On a heavy pitch, and under grey skies, we kicked off against a strong Cranleigh U11 team. Despite the conditions, it didn’t take long before Albury struck first. Teddy burst down the right wing and delivered a picture perfect cross for William to calmly tap home the opener.
Arthur took on goalkeeping duties in the first half and produced a string of brave saves, diving through the mud and rain to keep Cranleigh at bay. In front of him, Woody, William and Lucian were disciplined in defence, breaking up attacks and keeping the Hawks organised. Aaron and Keiron worked tirelessly in midfield, covering ground and driving the team forward, while debutant Jules impressed with calm touches and fearless challenges.
Second Half – Defence Holds Firm, George Seals It
William swapped scoring for shot‑stopping in the second half, pulling off an incredible flying save to deny Cranleigh an equaliser. Lucian, Will and Woody, also formed a resolute defensive trio that refused to be broken down.
With Cranleigh pushing forward, George spotted their goalkeeper off his line and unleashed a long‑range effort that sailed into the net - Albury ahead! Harry kept pressing with dangerous crosses, William B chased every ball with relentless energy, and Aaron continued to shine with attacking runs from deep.
Full-Time: 2-0 – Hawks Victorious With a Clean Sheet
On a cold, wet winter’s day, this was a battling performance between two evenly matched sides. Albury not only scored two memorable goals but also kept a clean sheet, thanks to Arthur’s first‑half heroics, William’s second‑half save, and the defensive steel of Woody, Will and Lucian. Every Hawk played their part in a hard‑fought victory.
