Albury Ravens 4–1 Camberley Ravens

Well… that was a game! ?‍?⚽️

The first 10 minutes were a bit of a “who wants to actually have a go then?” affair, with both teams keeping things tight and very few chances being created.

But after that, the Ravens decided enough was enough and started to take control. For the next 20 minutes, we were the better side, creating chances, moving the ball well and putting Camberley under plenty of pressure. We even had what looked suspiciously like a penalty turned down… but apparently VAR wasn't available at U12 level! ?

The second half started with the boys straight back on the front foot, and this time we got our penalty after a handball in the box.

Oliver stepped up… cool as you like… BANG! 1–0! ⚽️?

Camberley weren't giving up though and grabbed an equaliser from a corner to make it 1–1

But did that worry the Ravens? Absolutely not.

We were still all over them, and it wasn't long before Kordian stole the ball around the halfway line, took aim and absolutely leathered a half-volley into the net! ?

2–1 Ravens! And what a finish!

The boys were now properly enjoying themselves, knocking the ball around and creating some lovely football.

Then came number three.

Woody picked out Freddie with a brilliant through ball, Freddie controlled it beautifully and then absolutely powered it home! ?

3–1!

Still on top and still causing problems, Albury worked the ball brilliantly down the right. Raffy was released into space on the wing, looked up and fired an early ball across the box.

And who should be standing there with plenty of time to think about what he was going to do?

Oliver!

He didn't think for long.

BOOM. Another one in the back of the net! ?⚽️

4–1!

From there, the boys saw the game out really well. They kept their shape, continued to play some great football and kept working right until the final whistle.

It was a proper team performance today. ? The boys showed character, energy and no shortage of quality, especially after conceding the equaliser. They responded in exactly the right way — by getting back on the front foot and playing their football.

Credit to Camberley too, who certainly weren't shy when it came to putting in a challenge!? The Ravens stood up to it, battled
